The electric pump assembly is made up of three main parts.

There is the electric motor. Inside this, is the rotor which rotates. This drives the diaphragm inside the pump.

This film will show you how to disassemble the motor assembly further after taking it out from the lower casing of the device and removing the fan.

To inspect the internal parts of the pump assembly, first remove the two bolts holding the pump together.

Then remove the bracket securing the motor and pull out the pump and rotor.

Using an Allen key, loosen and remove the small screw inside the brass piece, which is attached to the diaphragm. You can leave the small screw on the end of the Allen key. Make sure not to lose it.

The brass piece should now be loose.

Next, undo these two screws. This is quite fiddly, so be careful not to drop the screws and lose them.

Now you can take the pump off the main shaft. This allows you to remove the brass piece, taking the pin out of the end of the diaphragm rod.

Remember you left the small black screw on the end of the Allen key. It’s a good idea to screw this back into the brass piece so that it will not get lost.

Finally, you can remove the diaphragm by gently pulling it out of the housing. You may need to rotate it or move it from side to side to pull it out.

Before accessing the rubber gasket, first use a permanent marker to mark two opposite corners of the casing so that it can be put back together in the correct way.

Next, remove the four screws.

Then take the two halves of the pump apart.

Next, carefully open the casing. Inside, you will find the rubber gasket, which can be gently removed using a pair of tweezer pliers.

Finally, clean the individual parts using alcohol and cotton. Do not use chlorine or any metal components, as it can cause rapid corrosion. We will show you how to reassemble the device in a later video.
